HISTORY OF CHATTANOOGA PANHELLENIC ASSOCIATION
Beginning with only 8 sororities out of the National Panhellenic Conference’s 26, the Chattanooga Alumnae Panhellenic re-grouped after any alumnae Panhellenic organization had seen a couple of decades of inactivity. Chattanooga Alumnae Panhellenic received its charter on March 10, 2011 from the National Panhellenic Conference.
Since that time, ChattPan has been active in our community, has received national recognition as a chapter of merit, has hosted our NPC’s chair with an ALL SISTERS event in cooperation with UTC sororities and collegiate Panhellenic, and has mentored hundreds of high school senior girls and their Moms or guardians with our annual Sorority 101 workshop and has promoted Greek life in our community by reaching our to our collegiate panhellenics throughout the region by letting collegiate panhellenic presidents have a platform to speak at this event.
Although helping the senior girls has been our primary mission since the Chattanooga Alums reorganized, the Chattanooga Alumnae Panhellenic has annually planned several events throughout the year including the sorority 101 event. There have been annual holiday parties, open business meetings in the fall and festive events in the late spring, as well as rec sharing in the early summer.
We are now 18 sororities strong and have added a fundraising and sponsorship component to our organization.
